Friday Song: “Don’t Look Back”
A great riff, sound, singer, and song — what more do you want?
Following up from Boston’s flawless eponymous debut album, “Don’t Look Back” was the first single from the album of the same name. The song was a strong followup to Boston, and sold 1 million copies in its first two weeks of release, ultimately reaching #4 on the Billboard charts.
Performed largely by musical mad scientist Tom Scholz in his basement, the song had a few touches by other members. Lead vocalist Brad Delp was, of course, indispensable.
I’m not going to write much about this one. Just enjoy a great song, and let’s look forward to more centuries of independence on this Fourth of July!
