Got Glyphosate Toxicity?

Not likely, but OpenEvidence and others have some underpants to sell you

Got Glyphosate Toxicity?

Reports are flooding in that MAHA Nation is split over Trump’s Executive Order to compel Bayer, which produces phosphate products for farming and weapons, to not only stay in business to protect our food supply but also to ramp up production, with legal immunity from purported public and private harms granted in the name of national security.

Quelle horreur! Will this be the downfall of BabyFreakin’Killer, Jr.?

Ha! No.

It’s good for business. MAHA isn’t split. They’re monetizing both sides of the “debate,” just as they have with vaccines. Pick a topic, create outrage, sue against it, and if you can’t sue, sell the solution to the fake problem you made up. Then sue later.

Glyphosate and the new Executive Order are gifts for the grifters.

“Follow me because I always tell the truth” is the mantra from the liars in charge.  Their pearl-clutching, rage-bait social media influencers are aghast, I tell you, aghast! As are those hawking multi-level marketing (MLM) opportunities for MAHA moms and who are now channeling their inner Rosie the Riveter to join ranks and sell solutions to what, scientifically-speaking, is not a problem for the average American.

Derek Beres and Mallory DeMille did a great job breaking down some of this nonsense on their recent episode of Conspirituality entitled “MAHA’s Glyphosate Breakdown.”

Dr. Andrea Love reminds all of us who took science in high school that this is a stupid debate.

  • Fear of chemicals that don’t actually hurt us lures us into paying more for unregulated things that could hurt us, like “organic” stickers on over-priced food in the grocery store and supplements that we don’t need.

And if you care to learn more about the science and politics surrounding the farming industry, big and small, particularly now that MAHA is using none other than Mike Tyson as a spokesperson for healthy eating, follow Sarah Taber.

  • RIP, George Foreman, you did more to make America healthy than these jerks

Stat!News and Scientific American covered this hot topic. Bloomberg News zoomed out about how these chemical manufacturers are important for geopolitical reasons.

Are these products killing us via affordable factory-farmed foods, or saving us from nuclear holocaust? The government says both; science says neither. Adam Sewer’s recent Atlantic piece “Gullible, Cynical America: The trouble with believing anything and nothing at the same time,” gets into this as well:

That’s exactly how the cryptolords and gambling companies and supplement salesmen want you to feel, because if they can sell you that feeling, they can sell you anything at all. That goes for politicians, too.

So what does the scientific record have to do with it?

Welp, if you asked OpenEvidence the other day (who are probably by the time of this writing claiming to be the singular trillion-dollar AI solution to everything medical — haven’t checked) about “treatment for glyphosate toxicity,” you can find that America’s qualified NPI holders are privy to the following summary:

Current evidence supports the effectiveness of intravenous lipid emulsion and hemodialysis as treatments for severe glyphosate toxicity in humans, while other interventions show promise in experimental models but lack clinical validation.
