OA Review = A Decade of “Meh”

A literature review finds very little as far as compelling advantages to OA, is outdated, and can't address root causes

A less-than-stellar literature review commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and completed by academics at the Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology University Library claims to have found that the effects of OA publication have been pretty unremarkable — but does so in a way that has some OA advocates turning cartwheels because they are cherry-picking sound bytes and not looking closely at what’s on offer.
