A $900,000 Pickle Jar
“The Medical Evidence Project” has produced two reports in more than a year
In the early 1990s, In Living Color was the hottest sketch comedy show on television, with the Wayans brothers and Jim Carrey leading a talented cast playing many memorable characters.
One such character was Anton Jackson, an opinionated homeless guy played by Damon Wayans. As a great visual joke, Jackson carried around a big pickle jar half-full of juice with two giant whole dill pickles floating in it.
It was a hilariously gross image.
This image sprang to mind when I thought to look at what the Center for Scientific Integrity, the non-profit home of Retraction Watch, has been up to since receiving a $900,000 grant from Open Philanthropy to stop flawed and fake papers from getting into health guidelines.
