Podcast: “Private Wealth NOT Public Health”
How Jim O’Neill has worked a decade to make science into profitable tech
On August 29, 2025, the New York Times published a profile of Jim O’Neill, the new acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). O’Neill entered the role after the Senate-approved Director (Susan Monarez) was fired in a slipshod and dubious manner. Several other top officials resigned, and Monarez is suing.
The editors of the New York Times are not rising to the challenge of blossoming techno-fascism so failed to flag the actual scheme driving the purge at the CDC and O’Neill’s role in it. They don’t seem to have explored how long the scheme has been brewing, what kind of arsenal the players have assembled over the past decade, how scientific journals have been used or are complicit in the scheme, and how media manipulation itself factors into the potential for success.
The plan seems to be to turn biological science research — which in unpredictable, difficult, expensive, and prone to failure — into controllable technology. That way, transmogrified into predictable artificiality, science can be much more easily exploited, flexibly staffed, and profitable while being far less regulated, just like tech.
But as we all know, science ≠ tech.
The contrast was all laid out in a 2014 presentation by O’Neill as part of one of Peter Thiel’s investment firm’s meeting. The important slide delineating why they reject science as a foolhardy investment is here:

To make biotech another area they can plunder by jamming it into their digital fiefdoms and extracting the value for themselves, they’ve put tools on the market to minimize this uncertainty, including one that allows anyone to write scientific papers.
If you thought paper mills were bad, now we have paper homebrew at scale . . .
Kent used it yesterday, and in less than 25 minutes had a complete paper in hand which claimed experiments that never happened, lab assays never conducted, statistical analyses never run, and findings we never even read.
Here is the tool at work, with all his involvement amounting to entering the subject “music and mental health” into one field, and clicking two “proceed” buttons (music from Provoke the Truth):

On this week’s podcast, we dive into who and what we think is really behind the decimation of US public health via RFK Jr., Jim O’Neill, Peter Thiel, and others.
Believe it or not, it’s about private wealth, not public health.
