Earlier this month, members of the Foundation for American Innovation (FAI), American Compass, the Institute for Progress (IFP), and the New American Industrial Alliance (NAIA) issued their Techno-Industrial Policy Playbook, via a slick web site and a well-designed PDF. It touches on a number of issues around science funding as well.

  • The Foundation for American Innovation (FAI). Formerly the Lincoln Network, which was described as a “a right-wing 501(c)3 nonprofit based out of North Carolina” with a goal “. . . to merge Silicon Valley and DC for a more perfect union,” its organizational activities include providing tech help to right-wing organizations, including messaging, analytics, and web design.” It renamed itself the Foundation for American Innovation in 2023. It works with the State Policy Network (SPN), a network of 167 conservative and libertarian think tanks throughout the United States and Canada, to affect state-level legislation.
